Block Aero and the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) have renewed their partnership for five years.
The original collaboration, announced in March 2024, launched a Registry-as-a-Service airworthiness compliance solution for serialized parts. AFRA serves as registry manager; Block Aero operates the platform.
Under the renewed agreement, Block Aero remains the implementation partner for the AFRA-CAAC Registry — the qualifying overseas registration platform for aircraft, engines, and dismantled parts. The AFRA-CAAC asset registry solution has been delivered to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and its stakeholders across the aviation supply chain.
The registry records recovered parts and their source aircraft so buyers, owners, and authorities can query a traceable record. Disassembly organizations participate through AFRA Best Management Practice (BMP), under the CAAC–AFRA memorandum of understanding that allows qualified overseas organizations to take part.
