eARC: the electronic Authorized Release Certificate

An airworthiness release should not live on a sheet of paper that can be lost, smudged, or forged. eARC is the signed, tamper-evident digital form of the Authorized Release Certificate, covering the most common forms including the FAA Form 8130-3 and EASA Form 1. Each one is anchored on the Aviation Blockchain Network and attached to the asset's digital passport, so any counterparty can check it in seconds.

What it is

The airworthiness release, made digital

An Authorized Release Certificate is the approval tag that travels with a serviceable part, most commonly the FAA Form 8130-3 or the EASA Form 1, certifying that an authorized organization released the item to an approved standard. The eARC is that same certificate captured as a signed electronic record, hashed, and bound to the part's passport on the network.

AUTHENTIC

A real release certificate

Your authorized signatory still makes the release. eARC captures it as a structured digital original, not a scan or a photocopy.

ATTACHED

Bound to the asset

The release travels with the part for life and never has to be reassembled from a folder of PDFs.

CHECKABLE

Confirmed by anyone

Buyers, lessors, MROs, and auditors confirm an eARC is authentic and unaltered against the on-chain record instantly.

The paper problem

Every paper certificate is a risk and a delay

When the release lives on paper, the whole transaction inherits its weaknesses. Buyers wait on scans, quality teams cross-reference by hand, and a single lost or questionable tag can stall a sale or ground a part.

Lost or illegible

Certificates go missing or fade, then have to be chased down or reissued.

Easy to fake

A convincing PDF is simple to forge and hard to disprove.

Slow due diligence

Authenticity gets checked manually, by phone and email.

Broken trails

Parts change hands and the paperwork does not follow.

How it works

From signed release to instant verification

eARC is a capability of Digital Asset Manager, built on Block Aero's eARC trace data standard. The proof is created once, at the source, and trusted everywhere after. See it in the product docs

Issuing an airworthiness release document in Block Aero, completing the certificate as a structured digital record
Issue a release certificate as a structured, verifiable digital record.
Step 1 · Release

The authorized organization signs the release

Certifying staff complete the form they use today, such as an 8130-3 or EASA Form 1, as a structured electronic record inside Digital Asset Manager.

Step 2 · Anchor

The certificate is hashed and anchored

Block Aero writes a cryptographic fingerprint of the eARC to the Aviation Blockchain Network and binds it to the part's passport, making it permanent and impossible to alter unnoticed.

Step 3 · Travel

The release follows the part

As the asset is sold, leased, or installed, its eARC stays attached. No rekeying, no lost folders, no gaps in the trail.

Step 4 · Verify

Any counterparty confirms in seconds

Buyers, lessors, MROs, and authorities check the certificate against the on-chain record, including through #RegistryReady data packages and marketplace listings.

Who benefits

Value on both sides of the transaction

For buyers & MROs

Accept parts with confidence

  • Instant authenticity check. Confirm the release is genuine and unaltered without a phone call or email chase.
  • Counterfeit defense. A forged tag cannot match the on-chain fingerprint.
  • Faster receiving and approvals. Documentation flows straight into your records repository.
  • Cleaner audits. Every release is traceable to the asset's full history.
For sellers & distributors

Close deals faster

  • Less paperwork friction. Issue and share releases digitally instead of scanning and emailing.
  • Higher buyer trust. Tamper-evident proof shortens due diligence.
  • Quicker fulfillment. Parts move when their documentation is ready on demand.
  • Built into your workflow. eARC rides alongside Data Package Creation and marketplace listings.
Why Block Aero

What an anchored eARC adds

Tamper evident

Any change breaks the certificate's cryptographic fingerprint. Alteration is detectable, not hidden.

Multi-authority

Covers the most widely used airworthiness release forms, including the FAA Form 8130-3 and EASA Form 1, so a release travels with the part across jurisdictions.

No single point of failure

Verification does not depend on one company's server staying online. The proof lives on the network.

Part of the passport

The release is one element of a complete back-to-birth record, not a stray document.

Standards aligned

Built on the eARC trace data standard and the 108-type Data Sharing Specification.
