Board Members

Todd Siena

Founder & CEO

Todd has 16 years of experience executing projects in commercial aerospace manufacturing, MRO, aftermarket and aviation finance. With both first hand experience as an aircraft parts supplier and subsequently as a management consultant focused on the aerospace industry, Todd gained a deep understanding of the problems and inefficiencies that afflict the modern aerospace industry.

In 2017, Todd formed Block Aero with a mission to bring enhanced efficiency, safety, security and trust across the aviation industry through improved digitalization. He has a proven track record of uniting individuals from diverse professional backgrounds and having them deliver complex projects in the aerospace industry in multi-cultural environments.

Burt Pinoli

Secretary and Director

Burt has over 30 years of leadership experience in the aviation industry across various roles including business unit management, business development and corporate development. His career has spanned a wide array of companies, with prominent postings including serving at Delta Air Lines as Director of China and later General Manager of Asia, at Northwest Airlines as General Manager of China, and at Transamerica Airlines as Managing Director of Asia.

Burt provides Block Aero with substantial operational experience from the airline industry, as well as wisdom and insight from the many leadership roles he has held in recent decades. He is a substantial investor in Block Aero.

 

 

Toby Chan

Director

Toby has 16 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. He is co-founder of Audacy Ventures, a principal investments group focused on using new technologies to drive decarbonization. He previously worked at Macquarie Capital and Kerogen Capital, advising on a range of transactions collectively worth over $15 billion.

Toby’s network and investment experience helps Block Aero remain fiscally disciplined and raise the capital it needs to develop a best-in-class product for the aviation and aerospace industries.



Mark Calver

Director

Mark has spent over 30 years in the aviation sector. He initially worked in aircraft maintenance, engineering, operations and customer service roles. Later he became involved in aircraft leasing in both technical and business leadership roles. He currently serves as a member of the Technical Standing Committee for the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation.

Mark brings a breadth of practical aviation industry experience to the development of digital solutions for managing aviation assets for their beneficial owners, helping to drive improved efficiency and safety standards across the industry.

 

 

Chew Teck Soon

Chairman

Teck Soon has more than 9 years of leadership experience in commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul industry. He served the Board of SIA Engineering Company Limited and its Executive, Audit (as Chairman), Nomination and Board Risk Committees during his 9-year tenure as an independent director with the Company.

As Chairman on the Board, he provides oversight and shares his wide and extensive corporate experience on governance to the Board and the Company that he gained in his several decades with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he retired as a senior audit partner. On growing the Company’s business, he shares strategies, business models and social networks with the CEO and management team on launching block chain products that can drive positive impact on people safety, regulatory compliances and achieving net zero in the aviation industry. Besides being a Chartered Accountant, he is also a double MBA business school graduate with Sustainability Management School of Switzerland in Sustainability Management and Sustainable Finance and Digital Innovation.
