Network Policy

1. Purpose

This policy is designed to protect the Block Aero Software and Blockchain Network, and the ability of users of the Block Aero Software to utilize the Blockchain Network services. The purpose of this policy is to define the standards for connecting Users and Organizations to the Block Aero Software and Blockchain Network. The standards are designed to minimize the potential exposure to Block Aero and our User(s) from damages (including financial, loss of work, and loss of data) that could result from computers, servers, or nodes that are not configured or maintained properly, and to ensure that devices connected to the Blockchain Network are not taking actions that could adversely affect the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network performance. Block Aero must provide a secure network for use of the Block Aero Software and Services. Damages from Users or Organizations attempting to alter, damage, or otherwise modify the Block Aero Software and the Blockchain Network could include the loss of sensitive and confidential data, interruption of network services and damage to critical Block Aero internal systems. Therefore, Users and Organizations who connect to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network must follow specific standards and take specific actions.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all users of the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network who have any device connected to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network. This policy also applies to anyone who has systems outside the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network that access the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network and resources, such as via API. The policy applies to any Block Aero-owned devices, User and/or Organization devices, API or other automated connection, and any personally-owned or leased devices that connect to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network. Overview: The support services described herein are provided by Block Aero to each Block Aero customer (“Customer”) pursuant to the terms and conditions of the applicable License and/or Enterprise Agreement (“Agreement”) between each customer and Block Aero, or between a customer and an authorized Block Aero partner. Capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meaning set forth in the Agreement. Subject to customer paying the applicable support related fees, Block Aero will provide the support described herein.

3. Policy

3.1 Network Formation

Block Aero in its sole discretion approves and grants any User or Organizations access to the Block Aero Software, and is the sole issuer and administrator of all User or Organization’s accounts, nodes, and public & private keys from which to access the Block Aero Blockchain Network.

Modifications or extensions to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network can potentially cause undesired effects. These effects are not always immediate, nor are they always located at the site of the modification. Therefore, extending, disabling, or modifying the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network in any way without the consent of Block Aero is strictly forbidden.

3.2 Network Operation

Any User who wishes to connect to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network must first go through the Block Aero onboarding process. After completing the onboarding process, the User can enter their valid Block Aero User ID and password via the login portal located at https://beta.block.aero/account/login to access their User Account on the Platform

3.3 Network Security Standards

These security standards apply to all connections to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network through standard ports, through wireless services, and through home and off-site connections.

  • User Organization servers and nodes that are connected to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network must receive their unique network identity and account privileges from Block Aero. Block Aero currently holds all public and private keys on behalf of all users and organizations which are associated with any User who receives access via an account.
  • Block Aero uses self sovereign identity (SSID) and hardware security modules (HSM’s) as part of their user credentials for associating users and their identity to actions which take place on the Block Aero Blockchain Network. Users and organizations are currently assigned and issued all user credentials solely by Block Aero, and therefore must maintain the highest levels of protection procedures to safeguard their unique identifying credential information.
  • Block Aero proprietary or personal user data will not be stored on computing devices other than Block Aero owned and/or operated servers and storage devices.

3.4 Centrally-Provided Blockchain-as-a-Service Network

Block Aero is responsible for providing reliable Services for the entirety of the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network. As such, Users and/or organizations may not run any service which disrupts or interferes with Block Aero’s provided services. Users or organizations may not attach their servers, operating systems, nodes, or unauthorized API interfaces to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network without prior approval from Block Aero. Users and/or organizations may not run any service or server which requests from a User their Block Aero-maintained credentials (ex ID and password). Please refer to the Block Aero Data Security policy for additional details.

3.5 Protection of the Network

Block Aero routinely monitors the Block Aero Software and the Blockchain Network. By connecting to the Block Aero Platform, you are acknowledging that the network traffic to and from your computer may be scanned at the packet level according to criteria such as source/destination addressing, protocol, bandwidth consumption, etc. Block Aero reserves the right to also throttle or otherwise control the rate and flow of data uploaded, downloaded, stored, written, or otherwise interacting with the Block Aero Software and Blockchain Network. Block Aero reserves the right to take necessary steps to contain security exposures to the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network and mitigate the impact of improper or disruptive network activity. In order to allow normal traffic and services to resume, Block Aero will take action to contain devices that exhibit the behaviors indicated below:

  • Imposing an exceptional load on the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network.
  • Exhibiting a pattern of network traffic that disrupts Block Aero-provided services.
  • Exhibiting a pattern of malicious network traffic associated with scanning or attacking others.
  • Engaging in behavior consistent with a 51% hack or other means to damage, alter, or otherwise modify the Blockchain.

Block Aero reserves the right to restrict certain types of traffic coming into and across the Block Aero Software and/or Blockchain Network. Block Aero can restrict traffic that is known to cause damage to the network or hosts on it. Block Aero also may control other types of traffic that in its sole discretion is deemed to consume too much network capacity.
